ยาคุมมินนี่แบบ 21 เม็ด เป็นยาคุมชนิดฮอร์โมนรวม ประเภทฮอร์โมนต่ำมาก (Ultra low dose pills) เพราะในเม็ดยาแต่ละเม็ดในแผงของ “มินนี่” จะมีตัวยาฮอร์โมนเอสโตรเจน คือ Ethinyl estradiol 0.020 มิลลิกรัม และฮอร์โมนโปรเจสติน คือ Desogestrel 0.150 มิลลิกรัม เหมือนกันทั้ง 21 เม็ด

- ยาคุมมินนี่ 21 กินยาเรียงตามตัวย่อของวันในสัปดาห์จนครบ 21 วัน
- ยาคุมมินนี่ 21 นั้น เมื่อกินครบ 21 วันก็ให้ว่างเว้น 7 วันก่อนเริ่มกินยาแผงใหม่
- ยาคุมมินนี่ 21 มีช่วงปลอดฮอร์โมน เป็นช่วงว่างเว้นจากการกินยาคุม
- ผลของยาคุมได้ผลด้วยการสังเกตดู สำหรับยาคุมมินนี่ 21 ประจำเดือนจะมาช่วงว่างเว้นการกินยาคุม 7 วัน
